The visual artist and painter Anett Simon will initially choose artistically interesting locations in the Polder Steinbeckervorstadt. In her words, painting means “looking, perceiving, discovering, and capturing one’s own perspective with colors.” Using cropping frames, composition exercises will be conducted from detail to panorama, followed by initial tests with acrylic paints. In the main part of the workshop, the selected motif will be transferred to a large format under the guidance of Anett Simon.
The workshop series PEAToresk: Artistic perspectives on the drained mire meadows near Greifswald is offered in cooperation with the projects MoKKa and Sensing Peat. It takes place within the framework of the 25th anniversary of the Michael Succow Foundation and the 250th anniversary of Caspar David Friedrich. Our partners are the Greifswald Mire Centre, the Protestant Parish of St. Nikolai, and the Mire Manager of the City of Greifswald.
