Juliane Tübke and Alison Darby experimentally explore ways to develop parts of the vegetation in the Steinbecker Vorstadt Polder into sustainable materials. The potential of plants such as reeds, meadow grass, and alders is examined, and the work process from fiber extraction to papermaking is undergone: Workshop participants cut, grind, pound, scoop, press, dry, and make ink from collected alder cones. Additionally, the artists share their knowledge of mythological stories in which plants are considered independent actors and creators.

The workshop series PEAToresk: Artistic perspectives on the drained mire meadows near Greifswald is offered in cooperation with the projects MoKKa and Sensing Peat. It takes place within the framework of the 25th anniversary of the Michael Succow Foundation and the 250th anniversary of Caspar David Friedrich. Our partners are the Greifswald Mire Centre, the Protestant Parish of St. Nikolai, and the Mire Manager of the City of Greifswald.
